Miranda Steeves, a master of science student at UPEI, is working on a research project aimed at improving the treatment of breast cancer. Steeves has been granted $11,900 from the Canadian Cancer Society’s J.D. Irving, Limited Excellence in Cancer Research Fund to help her research.CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — UPEI master of science student Miranda Steeves is receiving funding for a research project aimed at improving the treatment of breast cancer.
She is working with Marya Ahmed, a professor of chemistry, to develop new approaches to delivering chemotherapeutic drugs with fewer side effects. With this research, Steeves hopes to make an impact by improving the treatment of breast cancer patients.
