So far, $500,000 is being issued to affected communities through the Department of Municipal and Provincial Affairs.
To date, approximately $147,000 has been approved to fund clean-up efforts, hire relief staff and pay overtime to town employees. Expenses are fully covered and communities will not have to cost-share.Residents impacted by Fiona are asked to register with the Red Cross if they haven’t already done so. Registration can be completed by calling 1-800-863-6582 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. or by visiting the St. Christopher Hotel between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday.
