Opinion: B.C. NDP expropriates use of seniors’ and families’ second homes.
The NDP’s speculation and vacancy tax is forcibly evicting seniors and families from their second homes, and many are devastated. Those who have worked to build this province and saved their whole lives for a second home or vacation home in metro areas of B.C. are having the use of those homes expropriated by the NDP. No longer can their family and friends use their second homes year-round for rest, vacations, celebrations, or respite.

Speculation and Vacancy Tax forces B.C. residents to either move out or rent their fully furnished second homes for a minimum of six months to unknown tenants at the threat of paying up to tens of thousands of dollars in the punitive tax every year.
