Sheldon Keefe had to fix his on\u002Dice lineup and mend some fences in the dressing room Wednesday morning.
Coming in on defence is Victor Mete, for Jake Muzzin who went on injured reserve after a neck injury in the game. Filip Karl was called up from the Marlies to take Muzzin’s roster spot. Mete will play with Mark Giordano, as Rasmus Sandin moved to Muzzin’s vacated spot with Justin Holl.
“I used some of the wrong words to try and describe what I was trying to,” Keefe said. “Which was the difference in the game was that we were unable to produce, whether it was power play or 5-on-5. Through four games, all-star winger Marner, league MVP Auston Matthews and left winger Michael Bunting have combined eight points, while the Toronto power play is 3-for-14.
“There’s stuff to clean up. We’re four games in, nothing’s going to be perfect. I’m still trying to find it offensively, get in a rhythm.”
