In a Facebook post, Button said the town received 17 or 18 packages of merchandise from the Toronto Maple Leafs. He said he thought the staff were joking when they first told him about the delivery. It also said the Leafs were thinking about him and the people of Port aux Basques, and the team would make a donation to the Canadian Red Cross as well as send some Leafs apparel.
