“I believe in public service. I believe you do have to work hard at it consistently with your residents. That’s what I do. And you constantly have to be present in the ward to make those connections but also to get things done. So that’s my style. That’s what I will continue to do for the next four years,” he added.Article content“I respect the outcome of all votes. And so I would put my full support behind whoever wins the mayor’s race.
As for his first priorities in a new term as a councillor, Brockington said that he’ll focus on incorporating into the budget the upkeep and repair of sidewalks, and concrete measures to resolve public transport unreliability. “I want to see a timetabling audit or an audit by someone not from OC Transpo that will look at chronic scheduling problems that we have on some routes that are contributing to unreliable service. So that’s a priority for me.”in 1994, when he was 18.
Prior to that, he was twice elected as a public school board trustee, a position he held from 2003 to 2010. By the time Brockington won his spot as councillor in 2014, McRae had served as River Ward councillor since 2003.
