The central problem in Ward 21 is the ongoing effect of the rural-urban divide since the amalgamation of 11 municipalities into one City of Ottawa. We simply cannot paint the entire city of Ottawa with one brush. Ward 21 has more kilometres of road than several of the other wards combined. We need more funding for our greater infrastructure needs. Our residents and homes have unique needs that must be addressed. The big-picture solution is adequate funding and resources to develop proactive infrastructure to provide for the growing needs of this ward. Our residents deserve value for the tax dollars they send to city hall.
We must reroute some of the traffic emerging north and south of Manotick with alternate roads, while at the same time work to change the master transportation plan to take Manotick out of the truck route.
