In her 2022 financial report and audited statements released last week, Adair said the amount of untracked and unbudgeted additional spending grows year by year. Adair said the extra-appropriation process is driven by the Nova Scotia Finance Act and that the Progressive Conservative government, like its predecessors, is following the legislation.
Adair recommended improved accountability and transparency over the additional appropriations process that could come through provincial legislation.
