The "old" hospital annex building being torn down on Nov. 22, 2022.TRURO, N.S. — After more than a decade of being vacant, the old Colchester Hospital in Truro is on track to be demolished by spring 2023.
Dave Ritcey, MLA for Truro-Bible Hill-Millbrook-Salmon River, gave an update on the project in a release Thursday. The Annex building was torn down last week, and workers are abating the interior of the main building. The structure will be demolished beginning in January.The facility was constructed during the 1960s and served the community as a hospital until 2012. Dexter Construction is overseeing its decommissioning.
