The youths found a shotgun on a trail adjacent to Birch Street in New Glasgow on Saturday, police said in a news release Sunday. The youths immediately told an adult, who called police. “Locating any firearm in a public place by the public is concerning, and in this case, it was located by a group of youth,” Const. Ken MacDonald said in the release.
The preliminary investigation indicated that there is no threat to the public safety, and no one was injured.
