Condition of victims not known
STORY CONTINUES BELOW THESE SALTWIRE VIDEOSTwo people were injured by assault with a weapon in downtown St. John’s in the early hours of the new year, according to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.
Officers responded to an incident at 2:25 in the morning. Both victims were taken to hospital, and the police continue to investigate.It’s the second violent assault in two weeks for St. John’s. On Dec. 18, RNC officers found a 20-year-old man with serious injuries after responding to reports of suspicious activity.police arrested Al Hega Ali-Hussain, 40, at a home in St. John's. He was held in custody to appear in provincial court and faces charges including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
