Bergeron played offensive tackle in college, but the Falcons list him as a guard. Some NFL teams in the pre-draft process did project him as a guard in the pros. Wherever he plays along the line, the 23-year-old is an especially fierce run-blocker.
With their first pick a night earlier, in Round 1 on Thursday, Atlanta took the consensus top running back in the draft, Bijan Robinson. Brown’s identical twin brother Chase —a running back also from the University of Illinois, after one year at Western Michigan University — is expected to be drafted by early Saturday afternoon, before the end of the fifth round.
Robinson played his first two years of college ball in Canada at the University of Guelph, before relocating to play in the vaunted SEC for Ole Miss in the U.S. Deep South — an unlikely cross-border university football jump few players ever have made to this impressive degree.
