Ontario’s top doctor urges people to mask up, but no mask mandate yet
The Sault and area’s educational sector as well as its business community is taking a ‘wear a mask if you want to’ approach as concerns over COVID, the flu and RSV are on the rise.
The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board is also taking a voluntary approach to masking for students, staff and teachers for now. “As before, we will continue to promote respectful, welcoming and inclusive environments for individuals who choose to wear, or not to wear a mask within our school communities and we do continue to make masks available for students and staff, at no cost.”
“We continue to promote regular hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette and integrate these opportunities and reminders as much as possible, however, reminders from home are always appreciated,” Reece wrote. “What I would urge is for every single business to engage their employees and have this conversation, to what level do they feel comfortable in a mask or no mask environment.”
