March of Dimes Canada is set to launch the Island Stroke Support Network for stroke survivors and their caregivers to access one-on-one and group support and assistive technology. Contributed is launching a new network to support P.E.I. patients who have experienced a stroke.
The network will also connect survivors and their caregivers with highly trained, caring volunteers who are also stroke survivors for one-on-one virtual support. Participants can also borrow iPads outfitted with assistive technology, including programs to help with aphasia. “Strokes and recovery from strokes can be very difficult for both survivors and their families,” said Health and Wellness Minister Ernie Hudson.
