No such luck against the Coyotes in a 4-2 loss, a performance marred by the Leafs’ lack of execution. “We lost on special teams for the period, for the night,” captain John Tavares said. “We just didn’t get it get to the inside well enough and that carried on to the second. “They seemed to generate a little bit more momentum and we weren’t carrying play as much. We had to find a way to generate and get more to the net, more to the inside.”“We’re disappointed,” Tavares said. “We didn’t play as well as we’re capable of. Not every night is going to be your best and you have to find a way to get life into your game. We came out in the third and were a lot better.
