Nova Scotia Liberal Leader Zach Churchill speaks to the media regarding the controversy over Speaker Keith Bain in October.- ERIC WYNNE/Chronicle HeraldNova Scotia’s elected representative will take their seats for the spring session of the legislature on March 21 and the opposition has already set its priorities.

For Nova Scotia, the proposal, including the bilateral agreement, is expected to translate into $154 million of new health spending in its 2023-24 budget that will be presented in the spring and more than one billion additional dollars over the 10-year span of the proposed agreement. NDP Leader Claudia Chender said her caucus will focus on what they’ve been hearing from people across the province, which are health care and affordability issues.
