North Vancouver native attended Cats' WHL camp last summer
The Prince George Cougars have been watching Joshua Ravenbergen and they obviously like what they’ve seen.
The Cats announced Monday they’ve signed the 2006-born goaltender to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. The six-foot-four, 174-pound Ravensbergen had a standout season playing for the Vancouver Northwest U-18 triple-A Hawks in the B.C. Elite Hockey League. The native of North Vancouver posted a 15-2-3 record with a 2.1 goals-against average and two shutouts. He also won one of his two playoff games, compiling a 3.28 average.
The lefthanded netminder helped the U-17 Hawks win the BCEHL championship last year. He went 12-7 in the regular season and finished with a 6-1 record in the playoffs.
