The well-attended two-day conference featured strong discussion about issues and the future of Prince Edward Island racing. The Feb. 10 edition of the conference had a trio of panels with Island racing participants. Female participants took part in the second panel as Michelle Myers, Jennifer Doyle, Ambyr Campbell and Alexis Gass had an honest talk about how to increase gender equality in the business. They laid out how they go toe-to-toe and succeed in Island racing and how more females can follow their lead.
Dr. Ian Moore of Summerside was given the Horsemanship Award after a year earning $2.4 million. Moore also trained two-year-old pacing colt O’Brien Award-winner Stockade Seelster, owned by Souris’ Paul and Sally MacDonald, who won the $900,000 Metro Pace.
