CONTRIBUTEDNORTH SYDNEY, N.S. — Costumes, candy and family fun are the objectives of the ‘Candy Crawl’ that will take over much of downtown North Sydney on Saturday.
“We did a similar one for Easter and called it the Bar Town Bunny Hop. We had overwhelming success and participation from the businesses downtown and also the community members and participants of the event. They thought it would be a fun way to get people downtown and just have some fun with their families.”The Candy Crawl will take place along Commercial Street and parts nearby on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
“We are encouraging storefronts to decorate and for people to dress up in costumes and just spread a little bit of happiness throughout our community.” “This is a community,” Walsh said. “We are earning a living from it and it’s good to give back to our community.” “When referring back to our Bar Town Bunny Hop we did at Easter, driving down Commercial Street it was great seeing all the families out together and smiles on people’s faces and how many people in the community came out and supported the event and supported businesses.”
