‘Trees in the city are what makes cities livable,’ says Marie\u002DClaire Howard. ‘But we don’t seem to be putting money aside for it.’
The target would require a significant increase in investment in the city’s urban forests. There is currently no money in the current park board budget allocated to tree planting and the city is only funding 268 new trees this year.
