With schedule getting tougher, win one, lose one won't cut it for Flames yyc
It’s the losses to non-playoff teams that might come back to haunt them.
Mikael Backlund and Jonathan Huberdeau teamed up for the overtime winner against the New York Rangers on Saturday. The Flames remain very much in the mix for a playoff position and are only two points back of the Minnesota Wild, who are sitting in the Western Conference’s second wild-card spot. They’ve got the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday which, on paper, is definitely one they would hope to win.
Maybe there’s some solace to be taken in the fact that the Flames have done pretty well against the league’s better teams recently, but it’s going to be a huge challenge, no matter how you cut it.Article content
