As a cold front sweeps through British Columbia on Thanksgiving Monday, the Coastal Fire Centre says crews fighting forest fires on Vancouver Island are ready to deal with any potential flare-ups.

That has resulted in the BC Wildfire Service warning that the wind could stoke forest fires, especially without much rain expected to relieve drought conditions in many regions. Ken Dosanjh, Meteorologist for Environment and Climate Change Canada, said with the current conditions, the potential for broken branches and fallen trees is much greater.
