Team makes first\u002Dever trip to play the expansion Desert Dogs, looking to add to their 19\u002D16 victory at Rogers Arena last week.

The Desert Dogs have had two home games so far this season and their announced attendance average is 5,941, which puts them 11th in the league. Vancouver is at 8,426 through two games, which is sixth best.

The NLL consisted of nine teams in 2017-18. The rapid growth can be tied to former commissioner Nick Sakiewicz, who openly talked about wanting to get the league to 30 teams. Brett Frood was named as commissioner in August. He had been president of NASCAR team Stewart-Haas Racing. He didn’t respond to an email question about future expansion, but did sound pleased with the Desert Dogs’ progress in their market, explaining: “
