Two performers from Vancouver Island have made the semifinals of Canada’s Got Talent, joining 16 others now vying for the $150,000 top prize.
Lantzville’s Raymond Salgado, 24, and Victoria’s Curran Dobbs, 41, advanced during Tuesday’s telecast on Citytv. Dobbs, a stand-up comedian, and Salgado, a musician, will attempt to secure their spots in the finals during the May 9 semifinals broadcast, which airs at 8 p.m. on Citytv.
Four semifinalists from each episode over the next two weeks will advance to the finals, which is to be held at the Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls. Four of the finalists will be selected by judges Trish Stratus, Kardinal Offishall, Howie Mandel, and Lilly Singh. The others will advance via fan voting. The live finale is set for May 16.
