Giants have kept Chloe Primerano on their 50\u002Dplayer protected list and are talking about bringing her to training camp again next season.
The 5-foot-8, 135 pound Primerano was a member of the Under-18 Team B.C. that claimed the gold medal at the Canada Winter Games in Summerside, P.E.I., on Sunday with a 3-0 win over Nova Scotia. Primerano, despite being an underage for the tournament, led the event in scoring with 14 points, including five goals, in six games. She had two assists in the championship game.
Giants general manager Barclay Parneta says that Primerano remains on the team’s 50-player protected list and is in the mix to come to training camp again next season.Article content Primerano had two goals and 19 points in 30 games in 2021-22 with the Burnaby Winter Club Under-15 Prep boys team, leading to her being drafted.
The WHL hasn’t had a female appear in a regular-season game since goaltender Shannon Szabados with the Tri-City Americans in 2002.
