Vancouver had gotten out to a 3-1 lead, looking like the swarming, heavy forecheck team that coach Michael Dyck wants them to be. That quickly vanished, as the game opened midway through the second period and Vancouver started trading chances with the more talented Cougars. Prince George tallied three times in two-minute, 30-second span in that stanza to take a 4-3 margin.
Vikman finished with 34 saves on the game but he had six or seven highlight-reel type stops in the second half of the night. Things could have easily been lopsided for Prince George.Advertisement 3
