The Panthers, who earned a berth in the nationals with a runner-up finish in the Atlantic University Sport playoffs, entered the Final 8 as the No. 8 seed. The Panthers continued to lead until the Vikes’ Diego Maffia tied the game 90-90 with 1:10 to go. UPEI guard Kamari Scott restored the Panthers’ lead with under a minute remaining, but Maffia, the Canada West player of the year, sank a three-pointer with 30 seconds remaining to give Victoria the victory.
