CEC hosted the Truro Tide as they faced off against the Annapolis Valley Vipers in the premiere game of theThe first quarter saw the Tide and the Vipers go neck-and-neck, each team outplaying the other for a score of 30-27 in Truro's favour.The second quarter is when the storm started brewing, with Truro surpassing Valley handily to finish 63-53 going into half-time. As the Tide crept further and further ahead, the fans cheered louder and louder.
By the end of the match, veteran Tyrone Watson netted 30 points for the Tide. On the Viper's side, Damon Garrett scored 29 points for his team.Tide Coach Patrick Havard shared a few words with the SaltWire Network after the game. "It's a nice start for us. We had some great moments. You can see where we showed little glimpses of what we could become as a team."He also made note of the crowd that came out despite the nasty weather.
