Private investigator, Colchester search and rescue lead also testify
Deputy Chief Robert Hearn speaking with the Truro Police Services' legal counsel. - Brendyn Creamer's meetings resumed in Truro Tuesday morning to discuss a complaint filed by Jason Ehler, father of Dylan Ehler, a young boy who went missing on May 6, 2020.The morning sessions included a witness brought in by the complainant. David Worrell is a private investigator brought in by the Ehler family in an attempt to find out what happened to Dylan.
This voicemail came about after Jason had learned of the Canadian Coast Guard's efforts at a fishing accident near Yarmouth earlier that month. He wondered why the coast guard had not been called for his case. Regardless of the circumstance of Jason's calling, he described the call, and Jason's other messages to police and CGSAR as"demoralizing."
He was asked why the police service did not do it anyway to provide peace of mind to the family. Hearn said that the intention of removing the boots from evidence was to give them some peace of mind. When questioned as to why Parson's backyard was not blocked off so police canines could accurately search the area, Hearn, a former canine trainer, responded that the area had already been contaminated with other scents, making it pointless to block it off.
