Tory said he has a successful track record of working cooperatively with senior levels of government, and has helped achieve an ambitious transit plan, affordable housing and job creation while keeping tax increases low. “John is not the only person that can talk to people and reach an agreement — that’s literally my job,” policy analyst Brown said. “You have experience sitting in boardrooms but your record shows that all you do is collect dust from Smart Track to your housing plan.”
Candidate Stephen Punwasi, who advocates a city-owned housing company to create cost-stabilized rentals on public-owned land, said the incumbent mayor has had lots of time to work on the housing file.
