The Toronto Six have signed Daryl Watts, a Toronto native who recently ended her NCAA career with Boston College and Wisconsin as one of the greatest players in U.S, college hockey.
“She’s been training and playing,” Six president Sami Jo Small said, “but after college, and being left off the active roster for Team Canada, she didn’t necessarily see a future for herself in the game.” “Thanks to Angela, we kept space open,” Small said. “The real crux of the conversations with Daryl came over Christmas. I think she’s going to fit right in here with what is already a great chemistry on the team.”
“She’s just an incredible player — her vision of the ice, her hands, she is a pure goal scorer,” Small said. “Daryl had many other options, so we feel a bit like we’ve won the lottery today.”
