As the Toronto mayoral campaign reaches a record number of candidates, the City is seeking thousands of people over the age of 18 to help run the byelection to elect a new mayor this summer.

Voting place election officials are needed to help Toronto residents vote in person throughout six advance voting days — from June 8 to June 13 — andApplicants can now register to book an interview for positions such as ballot officer, tabulator officer, customer service officer and standby officer, the city said in a press release.

Anyone at least 18 years old who can legally work in Canada can apply. People hired will be assigned roles “based on their knowledge, experience and the availability of positions at the time of their interview,” the release said. The City will aim to place applicants at a voting location close to their home address.

People who are interested can find more information about the job responsibilities, requirements, time commitments and pay on the.
