The Senators sat 10 points out of a wild card spot before the puck dropped, but they were carrying some momentum following Tuesday’s 3-2 shootout victory over the Boston Bruins at Canadian Tire Centre. The Senators were also forced into more juggling on defence after losing Nikita Zaitsev to a leg injury against the Bruins. Bernard-Docker, who hadn’t played since Nov. 19 due to an ankle injury of his own, stepped into Zaitsev’s former spot alongside Thomas Chabot.
