The Supreme Court of Canada does not release reasons for why it chooses not to hear cases. In 2022, only seven per cent of the cases that applied for an appeal were granted one. “In 2018, we strengthened the act to include new protections for patients to prevent extra-billing, clarified the rules for medical practitioners and established consequences for those who break the rules,” the statement said.Article content
