Winds of about 60 kilometres an hour gusting to 80 km/h are predicted off the Strait of Georgia, easing overnight, says the weather agency in the statement. Areas near the water will see the strongest winds. “Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur,” warns Environment Canada. “High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.”This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.Rainfall amounts could reach about 15 millimetres in Metro Vancouver, perhaps less in some areas, while temperatures will be mild, rising to around 10 degrees Celsius as the Pacific system rolls in.
