Huberdeau doubled the lead on the other side of special teams, ricocheting a rebound through a mess of legs on the power-play, and Andersson picked the top shelf to cap a first-period flourish. Huberdeau was denied on a late breakaway but managed to retrieve the puck, eventually dishing to a wide-open Toffoli for a one-timer from the slot.
He didn’t seem surprised by the jeers — “I’ve basically seen them do it to multiple guys that used to play here throughout the league” — but was flattered by the cheers after that tribute video on the jumbotron.
