BARRINGTON PASSAGE, N.S. — For the third year, Shelburne County Senior Safety & Services is delivering holiday meals to seniors living throughout the county.
The holiday meal delivery program was started in 2020 when COVID hit, explains Shawna Symonds, Shelburne County Senior Safety & Services coordinator. Besides a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, the delivery program provides an opportunity for a social visit, reaching more isolated and rural seniors in Shelburne County, Symonds said.
“It’s a wonderful experience,” he said. “You get to know people and there’s a need here and we’re here to help.” Shelburne County Senior Safety & Services is supported by all five municipal units in Shelburne County.
