. For the first time, a substantial opposition was elected in the province. The Liberals won 38 seats and the Conservatives grabbed 17, when the official count was done. Calgary now had three seats, and all three went to Conservative candidates.Article content

This election was also noteworthy because women were allowed to vote and run for provincial office for the first time. Two women were elected, including Louise McKinney, a member of the groundbreaking Famous 5 suffragist group. McKinney also became the first woman elected to a legislature in the entire British Empire. The other elected female was Roberta MacAdams, representing soldiers and nurses oversees.

The 1930 Alberta provincial election saw voters give the United Farmers its third — and what would be final — term in office.: As is the Alberta way, voters completely rejected the ruling United Farmers party in the 1935 provincial election.
