Beckett’s police cruiser was hit by a drunk driver in Langford on April 5, 2016, and the 32-year-old mother of two died of her injuries in hospital shortly after. In July 2017, Kenneth Jacob Fenton, the driver of the vehicle that crashed into Beckett’s car, was sentenced to four years in prison.
