NORTH BAY — Rylie Paul's Kakabeka Falls Curling Club rink came up just a little short in its bid for a provincial under-18 curling championship.

Paul's foursome, skipped by Claire Dubinsky, dropped a 7-4 decision to Sudbury's Mia Toner in Sunday's championship final, giving up steals of two in the third and fourth ends at the Granite Curling Club in North Bay, Ont. The Paul rink, which also includes lead Lily Ariganello and second Bella McCarville, earlier in the day knocked off Timmins' Deanna Chilton 8-4 in the semifinal round.

On the boy's side, Thunder Bay's Josh Hari rink did not advance to the playoffs, the 11-year-old skip going 0-4 in his first provincials.
