Goaltender Jakob Robillard had an impressive debut, but it was not enough for the Charlottetown Islanders against one of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s top teams on Jan. 15.

Robillard, who signed with the team as a free agent last week, stopped 46 shots in a 4-1 loss to his former team, the Sherbrooke Phoenix. The Islanders, who sit last in overall standings in the 18-team Quebec Major Junior Hockey League at 13-23-2-1 , will look to record their first win of 2023 against the Moncton Wildcats on Jan. 18 at 7 p.m.Before 3,534 fans at Eastlink Centre, the Islanders and Phoenix were scoreless after one period and tied 1-1 at the end of 40 minutes, despite the fact the visitors outshot the Islanders 50-21 overall.
