Halifax police were warning drivers and pedestrians to be careful Saturday morning after a bout of freezing rain and snow overnight. Highway 111 was snow-covered on Saturday morning making it difficult to navigate the multi-laned and busy road."Icy roads are being widely reported," police said in a news release."HRP is requesting motorists and pedestrians to use caution when venturing out onto the roadways."
Environment Canada said to expect northerly winds 30 km/h gusting to 50 to become northwest 20 gusting to 40 near noon. Wind chills will hit about -16 C this morning and -10 this afternoon.
