Bell admits that the LEC arena takes some getting used to, because it’s a larger space than your traditional school gym and doesn’t have the usual shooting sight lines, where the backboards are closer to the walls.
Semiahmoo coach Les Brown also likes that his charges have experience in the pomp-and-circumstance that the provincials can bring. Brown played with the Richmond Colts during the Bill Disbrow era, and says that Disbrow wanted his players to watch the Friday semifinals and Saturday championship in years they weren’t taking part so they could better understand the environment.
