Eric Hamber and Magee high schools were the only schools to still offer honours math and science courses at the Grade 8 level. The courses were not part of the curriculum as defined by the Ministry of Education, but some schools offered them at an accelerated pace or with more enriched content. “So I’d like to think any new board that came in would continue to be thoughtful in the way they handled their work.”
