Overdose prevention sites and drug-checking are critical to preventing deaths, but many communities don’t have them, often because of local resistance, the report said. Niki Sharma, MLA for Vancouver-Hastings and committee chair, said the government must ensure “every touchpoint with government services by individuals at risk connects them with community network, resources and supports.”
