High streamflow advisories remain in effect on the Fraser and Nechako Rivers, and their tributaries
The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is urging residents to use caution around rivers and streams in the area.
High streamflow advisories are in effect on the Fraser and Nechako Rivers, and their tributaries, in the region. “Water levels in the rivers and streams throughout the region are on the rise. Rivers and streams are naturally unpredictable, but a sudden rise in water levels can create added risks,” a statement released by the region district on Thursday said. “Rising waters can lead to unstable banks, an increase in debris in the water and fast flowing undercurrents. The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George encourages people to exercise caution when nearing rivers and streams.
