West Shore RCMP is renewing a call for the public to help identify a man who allegedly discharged a firearm near a Langford bike park.

On Feb. 20, around 12:25 a.m., police received multiple 911 calls from residents in the area of Irwin Road, near Jordie Lunn Bike Park, saying they heard two or three “loud bangs” nearby, Mounties said in an initial, since-reissued news release. RCMP’s police dog section also attended, locating bullet casings at a nearby construction site, but no suspect. Its serious crime unit is investigating the incident, and officers canvassed the area searching for witnesses and video surveillance, police say.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.He’s described as being between the ages of 40 and 50, standing approximately 6’1″ with a heavy build and weighing around 250-300 lbs.
