“When you see it in black and white it is quite alarming,” Ogston said, adding that the Calgary Food Bank saw 29,000 visits in March 2022 representing around 11,000 hampers distributed — 2,000 more hampers than in 2021 and nearly 5,000 more than 2020. To keep up with demand, in 2020 the Calgary Food Bank went from giving out hampers containing one week worth of food every 30 days to handing them out every 10 days, something they’re still doing almost three years later.Article contentAzin Ghaffari/Postmedia
