Union members at the CRA have been asked to hold their pickets as talks continue between the feds and the Union of Taxation Employees.
As talks continued between PSAC-UTE and the CRA on Monday, members were expected to join their nearest picket line, with workers gathering at the Canada Post Building at 750 Heron Road, which PSAC said has also operated as a CRA workplace.
“I’m looking forward to going back to work start serving our customers for a change and not be here doing nothing,” Vienneau said, adding that she was hoping to see a deal made this morning, given that there was an agreement made with Treasury Board groups. According to PSAC, while some progress has been made between the CRA workers’ union and the government — including issues related to hours of work — key issues remain.Article content
nine per cent wage increase over three years that was offered to Treasury Board members. The government said the union countered with a proposal of 22.5 per cent over the course of three years, including a market adjustment of two per cent. The union is also seeking protections against the contracting out of jobs, a matter that was included in the government’s deal with Treasury Board.
