Physicians launch a new social media and awareness campaign to address issues over the shortage of doctors, addressing doctor burnout and the need for integrated health centres
The Ontario Medical Association marked Monday as Doctor's Day in Ontario to let supporters and members of the public show appreciation for the efforts of Ontario physicians during the pandemic and to kick off a new social media campaign.
Koka said the pandemic effort is still being felt in the sense that physician burnout continues to be a significant issue in the medical community. He said there is also the concern that too many Ontario residents still do not have a family physician. A shortage of physicians is a serious concern for the OMA, he said.
Koka added that progress is being seen on some issues and he is happy about government efforts to reduce wait times for hospital beds along with the effort to reduce surgery backlogs.
